Visa Information

The Royal Nepalese Embassies or Consulates provide a two month tourist visa upon the presentation of a valid passport, 2 passport size photos and payment of the fee as shown below: You may also receive your visa upon entry into Nepal (either at the airport or at the border crossings) with the documentation as stated above. Currency is preferred in US dollars when applying for a visa upon arrival.

The visa fees for first visit in a visa year (1st January to 31st December) are as follows:

  • 60-day single-entry: US$30
  • 60-day double-entry: US$55
  • 60-day triple-entry: US$70
  • 60-day multiple-entry: US$90

The visa fees for re-applying in a visa year (1st January to 31st December) are as follows:

  • 30-day single-entry: US$50
  • 30-day double-entry: US$75
  • 30-day triple-entry: US$90
  • 60-day multiple-entry: US$110

Tourist Visa Extension: A tourist visa can be extended from the Kathmandu Department and Pokhara Immigration Office for a total of 120 days, an additional 30-day visa may be granted on reasonable grounds from the Department. Over the course of a visa year (1st January to 31st December) a tourist cannot stay in Nepal more than cumulative 150 days.

Extension Fee for Tourist Visa: 30 days: US$30

Overstay fines: US$ 2 per day plus other possible fines of up to RS 50,000

Trekking Permits are not required except for treks to restricted areas, Dolpo and Kanchenjunga.

Park Entrance Fees
The Annapurna Conservation fee is Rs 2000 (about US$30)

The National Park entrance fee (includes Everest, Langtang area) is Rs 1000 (about US$15)
